A member of the long-awaited "Super-Poppy" series, Heartbeat is an interspecific hybrid, incorporating Oriental and other types of perennial poppies. The color is deep maroon and the flowers are very large with a double row of extra-thick petals and frilly edges. Both the foliage and the leaves exhibit superior substance and a characteristic gloss, which enables them to hold up and last longer in the sun, wind, and rain. Especailly vigorous and sturdy upright growth habit with reliable reblooming capability in September. Sometimes a third flush is possible with Super Poppies. These are a "must" for the June Garden.
